DESCRIPTION:May 2nd to 5th. Climbfest 2025 in Malinbeg \nColmcille Climbers are holding this event at Malinbeg\, Co. Donegal\, in 2025. As usual it is on the Mayday spring bank holiday\, 2nd–5th May.  Camping is at the usual site by Malinbeg harbour\, within a couple of minutes walk from the crags\, there is a large car park for vanners at Silver Strand\, and there are also hostels at Malinbeg\, Malinmore and Glencolmcille.  Aras Ghleann Colm Cille is open and available and you can directly  -email Leon  with  requests. leon@arasbnb.com .  Or alternatively rooms have been made available online for example via Booking.com  and it is best  not to waste time as it can be a busy weekend! \nThose that want to park their vans at Aras are welcome to do so at a charge of 10 euro/night. Tents are ok too but charge not yet available to share.  It seems the Malinbeg hostel has no availability on Climbfest dates.  BTW: Thanks to Philip for getting this information on  on Ara and the Hostel. \nThe area is not as suitable for ‘Bottom roping’ as Culdaff\, but fixed ropes will be installed at Neptunes Wall and probably Skelpoonagh (about 15 minutes drive from the campsite). There are a variety of other crags accessible within easy driving distance\, Muckross Head\, Sail Rock\, and at An Port\, Berg Wall and the aptly named ‘End of the Earth’ crag. \nClimbfest has been running at various venues throughout Donegal since 2005. This our 20th is\, as usual\, aimed primarily at the ‘not so serious’ climber\, beginner\, or indoor climber\, and we are hoping that it will be kindly supported by Mountaineering\nIreland.   \nAny updates will be posted here. The charge is 20 euro for non-club members\, 15 euro for club members.
