SUMMARY:Climbfest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Climbfest will be held this year on the usual May bank holiday weekend  May 1st  to 4th with base at Culdaff and with climbing at both Culdaff  and further afield around the Inishowen peninsula such as Malin Head\, Port a Doris\, Warm Bay Point\, Isle of Doagh…  \nRegistration will be a the club campsite. The cost is 20 euro for club members\, 10 euro for kids and 30 euro for non club members. Cost includes access to the club campsite\, toilets and related events plus a first-come first-served surprise giveaway (!). \nCamping is available at the club campsite  and there is some space for campervans at Bonagee Pier. There will be the usual Climbfest campfire  BBQ evening on the Saturday and a talk from Frank Nugent and Paddy O’Brien on their adventures in the Antarctic  on Sunday evening in McGrorys in Culdaff. \nMore details to follow. \nFind out about local climbs via download link for a guide at the bottom of the page: \nDownload (PDF\, Unknown)

SUMMARY:Belmullet Meet
DESCRIPTION:The stunning Belmullet peninsula is the venue for this Colmcille climbing weekend meet in Mayo.  Paddy O’Brien led a joint CCC and IMC meet there in August last year and many new routes were climbed ranging from V Diff to HVS. All attending agreed it to be a superb location. Paddy noted “This bay on the NW side of the peninsula makes a great base\, quiet\, level parking\, some camping space and a calm sheltered bay for swimming with ever changing views. The crags are 1km north at Dún na mBó and are reached by just 10 to 15min pleasant walk from the upper car park.” \nMore details in due course.

SUMMARY:Mountaineering Ireland Summer Alpine Meet
DESCRIPTION:Mountaineering Ireland’s Summer Alpine Meet is based this year in Gressoney St. Jean in the Aosta Valley\, Italy. This valley is the home of some iconic alpine peaks such as Mont Blanc\, the Matterhorn\, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso. There is something for everyone here from low-level walks\, alpine trekking and climbing. \nThis Meet is for walkers\, rock climbers\, and mountaineers of all ages and abilities. It is a wonderful opportunity for all Mountaineering Ireland members\, new and old to meet established friends and make new ones\, go walking\, mountaineering and climbing in this beautiful region. The aim is to gather like-minded people together in an alpine area where they can walk\, rock climb\, boulder and climb snow covered and rocky alpine peaks.
