Directions: This impressive crag has a challenging approach from any direction. Perhaps easiest to kayak the 3 km east from Kinnego bay, but conditions would need to be calm, particularly for the bouldery landings. Otherwise the best approach is to drive up to the Inishowen Head viewpoint, above Shroove, walk or cycle the 2.2km NW along the Inishowen Head loop (unsuitable for cars) to a left hand bend gr 660452. Cross the fence and descend, slightly west of north, to Gr 659456, then steeply into the glen, and thence west along the coast. This is awkward bouldery going. Soon you will pass a pinnacle, the Cathar Spear, and the crag is just after. OS Grid Reference: C656458 Click here to view location in Google Maps |
