Grade: VS  5a
Length: 20m
First ascent: A. Millar D. Ryan 13.06.04
Route Description:
The next big feature right of Middle Age Spread is a cauldron shaped ledge, slightly higher than the previous belay ledges. Abseil in here. There is an obvious smooth off width crack moving out from it. This is Black and Tan Climbs smooth off width by steering clear of it and reaching high for ledge on right wall. Follow the good crack more easily to top.

Nice climb but the grade on the route is a bit high. I am a shorty and had trouble getting the first move (HS protection, 4c move?) but after that it's a VDif climb all the way to top.

I'm not sure I agree with the 5a grading. To me it felt more like a 4b/c move. Then again I do have a bit of of reach advantage over Alfie. As for it being a VS, I think it is definitely HS territory.

I agree it is a 5a move near the ground but not sure it is vs. Possibly bottom end
