Guidebook pics and help

Date:
Submitted by: PeterC

Hi Folks, now we've had the Climbfest don't forget to post your best shots onto the the photo gallery; or to e-mail to myself. They could end up in the forthcoming guide (this year, no exact date just yet!).

We also need comments and against any of the routes you climb and consider to incorrect or just brilliant.

The guide will only be as good as you can help to make it!

This may assist on how you can help with pics. Being the format of the next Donegal guide. For which Grimer has been a help from the start. http://issuu.com/bmcguidebooks/docs/sample_chapter_issuu/1?mode=window

Its sort of related. Particularily following climbfest there are a number of comments re grading. Does anyone do anything with these (and re star suggestions)? Is the guide planned to be definitive or selective?

Hi Alan, yes got the CD thanks. Will e-mail you. Hi Alfie, any grading/quality comments need to be logged against the climb on the on-line guide. The Donegal guide isn't a selective, but there's no need to include much bouldering - as MI have already funded a very effort from Dave Flanagan. Everyone needs to contribute as much as possible to ensure the best guide possible.

I really meant does the on line guide get updated? Sorry for phrasing it badly.

Hi Alfie, the comments remain on to get debate going and this is should remain in place until the latest guidebook comes out, comments post-guide should then remain in place until the next subsequent guide is published. I hope that reads clear. All comments are considered and unless they are made how do we know, except from personal experience, if something's amiss. Of course the reality is that it's very hard for even a guidebook team to check every route; hence the importance of the on-line comments.

Just checking for responses and offers of assistance for the guide when I noted I'd missed off the word fine against Dave F's Bouuldering guide. So to recap - a very fine effort, it was submitted for awards by MI.
