Pyrenees and Tapas

Date: 10th -13 th Feb. 2007

Margaret and self were staying with friends near Tarbes and got a couple of days in the Pyrenees.  On Sunday we walked up to the Cirque De Gavarnie, which is justly famous for its huge walls and waterfalls, which are frozen at this time of year, but starting to thaw, (which may explain the total absence of climbers).  Nice walk tho! On Monday, we didnt get up to the Aiguilles de Ansabere, due to an unseasonal deluge, but went to a Tapas bar instead.  Shame, I hear you say!  But the Tapas were good, and then the weather cleared (almost) but alas too late to start.  Went to a Decathlon store in Pau on the way home- great for gear!
