The Curved Ridge - Again |
Date: 16th June 2008 Submitted by: Columba McLaughlin It was Sunday night and I was in Scotland on business and had a Monday to spare. Unfortunately, no Colmcille Climbers were about as they were too busy tripping up new lines in the Indian Himalaya or were on some Mediterranean lines. Also, neither Gerry nor George (Scottish friends) were available as they were too busy working triple shifts in their respective Glasgow hospitals. So I was on me jack and the weather was brill. What's a guy got to do for a thrill??? Off I went to Glencoe and a revisit to the 'Curved Ridge' on Buachaille Etive Mór. Nothing like an auld friend when the chips are down. Its the first time I soloed it and I lost me another cherry on it. What more can I say, I'm no longer a virgin. What a climb and a smile on me face like a Cheshire cat. Descent via Coire án Tuáilich and Back to Glasgow in late evening for a Chinese buffet in Theatre Land. The next day the brill weather turned awful but I was cosy and still had a smile on me face.
