COLD CRUIT CRAIC

Date: 15 Jan
Submitted by: Keith Monaghan

A bit of clear weather and no rugby for Sam so we headed for Donegal and Cruit. Bright sunshine tempted us to try on harnesses using winter gloves. Went to Albatross Zawn in an atempt to get out of the biting wind, Sam and I climbed Saco VD and Toms Dinner VD and then the top half of Aquamarine S, as Neptune prevented access to the bottom of anything else. Failing light and blue hands resulted in defrosing fingers clamped to hot whiskeys in front of an open fire in Iggys.
Sunday morning was a lot calmer so after a wee jog to get the blood going we headed for the Outdoor Climbing wall which is as good as Ian's reports. Climbed Steady As She Goes VD with Sandra and Sam, then Disco Feet S4a , Seroiusly Good Craic S4a and Autumn Grove HS4b, before the cold got to us again.
Going to attempt to invent a belay device with a built in hand warmer, might see me on Dragons Den if I get it perfected!!
