Niall Tries Barbara's Baby - Climbfest 2006. Niall tries his hand with Barbara's Baby at Dunmore Head Culdaff. This route gets few repeats and I'm sorry to say that it spat Niall out like a bit of chewed gum. Severe?? In your dreams! And it used to be V. Diff, didn't it?

Yes agree, without big Camalots 4, 5 & 6 this is scary

XS, otherwise ungradable, At severe its still a sandbag.

Alan Tees, 1/07/08 - 01/07/2008
I know why off widths are all graded Severe! They should have their own separate grade which should include at least one expletive!

possible new route? right of barbaras baby, left of cheatin bitch. follow arete to overhang. using crack, gain ledge as far as my memory recalls. tricky finish around top arete. I just remembered it wasn`t in the guide book, thought i`d see if anyone new anything about it. grade, maybe VS 5a/5b.

Though I'd nip up this "SVR" as a nice wee finish to the day. It's not a path I used Camalots 4, 5 & 6, for gear a bit of a thrutchfest, the grade, E1 5a! The E for effort :-)

Niall - 25/01/2007
I thought I was doing ok until my toe brushed the cam and it fell out! I'm going to lose some weight for the next climbfest so I can wedge in further. And I'm bringing a car jack for pro ;-)
