Island June Climbing Weekend
June 19 - June 20
The iconic annual mid summer Island climbing camping hiking kayaking weekend will be the June 19-20-21st weekend on Gola.
Gola is serviced by a ferry from Maghergallon pier. Camping is possible on the Island or there is camping for both tents and vans at Maghergallon Pier.
Update 18th June: The weather is looking OK for the weekend, maybe damp on Friday 19th but dry from Friday evening onwards. Camping will be on Gola, there may be no water so bring plenty and also firewood. The ferry leaves Magheragallon Pier, Derrybeg and the last one on Friday is 6pm, first on Saturday is 11am. A few vans will stay Friday night at Magehragallon Pier and cross Saturday morning.
Donegal International Rally is on this weekend so avoid Letterkenny like the plague! It will be best to approach from Dungloe direction. There will be a stage near Derrybeg on Friday, some back roads will be closed and the are busy between 10am & 4pm.
