For the 6th successive year, Mountaineering Ireland will be hosting a climbing meet at Fair Head over the weekend of 5th – 7th June. Last year’s event was a massive success with over 150 climbers showing up throughout the weekend.

For those of you that haven’t visited Fair Head, it’s a mecca for trad climbing. Tucked away on the North coast of Northern Ireland it boasts many 3 star routes ranging from VS to E8. Many of the routes follow crack lines giving well protect and strenuous climbing but it also has its fair share of technical walls and steep pumpy roofs. The pure size and scale of Fair Head will leave long lasting memories and is a must visit destination for all operating at the grade!

The years entertainment will be split over the Friday and Saturday evenings. Friday will be in the form of St Bee’s local, aspirant mountain guide and extremely accomplished alpinist Will Sim. Will is going to talk us about how all your adventures start with trad climbing! On Saturday evening Hazel Findlay will be inspiring us from her adventures all over the world! They will be in the now regular setting of farmer Sean’s barn! As usual the slideshow will start when everyone is off the crag on the Saturday evening (usually around 11ish!). Camping will be £5 per person per night.
