Swiss ditty |
Date: July 2009 Submitted by: Anthony Wordsworth The Colmcillers arrived in July Determined to give the Eiger a try They travelled on the Jungfraujoch The price gave them a hell of a shock The Mitteleggi had too much snow So Monch and Jungfrau were given a go The Monch was conquered with relative ease The Jungfrau almost brought us to our knees Lost on the rock and battered by snow To the top we still had to go Even though we descended in mist Our faces were still burnt to a crisp We pottered about on Meiringen crag 5a - 6c were in the bag To the Alpenrose for beers and dinner With a lovely waitress we were onto a winner For once the weather forecast was right We were off to the Furka pass at first light (not quite) 13 pitches in the blazing sun We still managed to have some fun Now folks we've had a great 2 weeks We're just lovin' these Alpine meets So raise a glass and take the weight off your feet Let's get drunk and enjoy the burnt meat 24 Jul 2009 I can see why you don't want all the credit to be his. 24 Jul 2009 Hence the photo with all the signatures. I would just like to point out that Ant was not the only Wordsworth involved in this little ditty. There were a number of others and several beers!!!
