A Trip To Fair Head |
Date: 21/05/2006 Submitted by: George Carleton Fellow Colmciller Emmett Johnston and myself paid Fair Head a visit on Sunday, going by the weather forecast it seemed the most likely place to stay dry long enough to get a few climbs done. It was Emmett’s first visit to Fair Head but I think he was impressed by the place so I am sure it will not be his last. We settled on the Prow as a good introduction. I led The Fence which was a bit loose at the top but an enjoyable climb, I may have been a little over zealous in placing some of my gear as it gave Emmett a challenge retrieving it. Emmett then led that old favourite The Black Thief which he raced up. We then took alternate leads of Girona a two pitch VS, I led the first and Emmett led the second pitch which we just finished before the rain settled in for the evening and it was time to call it a day. |
