Slabby Stuff at Malin

Date: Same day as PC

Now hear this! Now hear this!

PC thinks that climbs in the modern idiom should have very dubious gear,............

"........VSs can be done without gear..........that's modern".  Needless to say I started climbing in what now must be as bygone era i.e wellprotected routes in abundance! Fred Astaire is a great route requiring finesse and stlylish footwork (pete's forte) however be warned gear is at the very best psychological therfore it's grade of E1 is suspect! Better gear is had on the slab routes and these to are a fine test of nimble footwork and highly enjoyable.

Rosie Brennanm and I visited Malin on Friday night, arrived late but managed to surmount the Dyke on the left flank of the slab mentioned above. Giving rise to a splendid VD (yet to be named) which is highly photogenic (to follow) and surprisingly exposed. My number 6 camelot was ceremoniously and appropriately placed on route
