Fairhead |
Date: 13th Sept 2008 Submitted by: George Carleton A good forecast for Saturday prompted me to give Peter Cooper a text to see if he wanted to climb at Fairhead or somewhere, I was pleasantly surprised to get a text from Alan later to meet him, Peter and Bill at the Head at 1pm. When everyone had arrived I suggested a few lines on Farrangandoo. Peter led Pangur Ban a 36m 5a classic HVS, which turned out to be wetter than it looked from the ground, which resulted in extra care having to be taken on the crux . Alan led Lazarus a 24m 4c VS followed by Bill, there is a short but nasty grassy scramble to get to the start of the route but otherwise a good line and well worth doing by all accounts. Later I led Good Morning Judge HVS 5a, 4a bringing Peter and Alan up on second. Peter managed to kick off a foot holds moving onto the crux in his eagerness to escape the midges. Peter was keen to get in a few more climbs, but unfortunately it was time to leave to make a dash for the last ferry across the Foyle. |
