Hugely satisfying climb but not one to start with on a cold morning. The starting move can be made a little easier if you can get your right foot out wide (only good for tall people I think).

Think there should be a 4c-5a warning for short people.

Seamus McErlean - 04/08/2012
Climbed it twice today. Once on lead and once as second. Start is unnerving.

I know this is heresy but I always find this route hard (and not just the start). My grade would be VS 4b. There, I said it was heresy!

Des O'Connor - 21/10/2010
We took two different climbing styles for start, straight at it with hand jams [Shane], and a layback option [Des]. Both ugly! But sure if it was easy we woud be out fishing! [Oct 2010]

Emma Clarke - 02/01/2009
This was my 3rd outdoor route, climbing as second. The start is a bit hard but the rest was really good.

George Carleton - 10/09/2007
The stuck cam is no longer there, but it's gear on demand all the way.

Kevin Kilroy - 11/05/2007
The start is a bit hairy but good solid climbing from then on, handy cam stuck in crack half way up too!

Peter Cooper - 10/07/2002
Must confess I found this route v. worthwhile and got scared when had to complete in a freak rain storm.

Pete Smith - 05/07/2002
The most obvious route on arrival at the crag, and one of the best short hard severes around.
