That's great. Could you forward me a copy to the e-mail address on the guidebook notes, thanks?

Peter Cooper - 24/06/2010
Forgot to say, Emma's pic really is the business; guidebook standard infact. I'd be interested to see thunbnails of more of her work. Other potential picture submitters take note, we're looking for the most inspirational and best pictures we can get. Get out there.

Dans new Gaelic map arrived yesterday. It looks great and details local names and English translations for most of the bays and many of the stacks on Owey and Cruit. I'll scan it in today and pass it onto you guys. Taming the dragon isn't named but it sits in Scealpán buí (yellow Inlet)

Absolutely, Bill is also in hot pursuit of a locally drawn map, after which we will all be better informed! We should be using local names, or failing that, appropriate names.

Peter Cooper - 16/06/2010
That's great news, the golf clubhouse's map doesn't have all of Owey (barely any of it infact) on it and we will be using the proper local names for the crag areas. Good work Jock, your other photos are great.

Sorry didnt mean to overwite the origional photo!

A classic owey seaside mountaineering trip, well worth a visit but beware of flying blocks! We also climbed a few lines on the wall facing Taming The Dragon ridge. Would these be new or are folk keeping development in this area under their helmets? Dan the ferry man is sending me a new A3 Gaelic map of the Island so I was wondering if we could update the guide map to follow the local names for each crag or stack where appropriate?

Alan Tees - 01/12/2009
You are right, it was Marty. Will change it.

Bill Magowan - 13/11/2009
I didn't do this with Alan. I think it was probably Marty McGuigan.
