if you look at the photograph of swell you can see that the top half of trident is missing - might explain - the grade/new route thing

Climbed this again yesterday. If this is in fact Trident, then def no harder than Severe, 4a

George Carleton - 29/03/2009
I led this line on Saturday and as per the description in the 2002 guide book i thought i was leading Trident, as described as being a few metres south of Evelyn Marie.

Chris McDaid - 29/03/2009
If this is in fact Trident, then theres a bit of discrepancy in the grading. However, I found the routes on Alba Wall extremely difficult to grade due to friable rock and apparently good gear which would almost certainly have failed due to rock failure if gear was loaded in a fall. See George's comments on Heidbanger

George Carleton - 29/03/2009
I didnt put a comment on the grade of this climb because i found it hard to put a grade on it myself, the start was a little tricky and the gear was thin enough. Though i would not have graded it as high as VS 4c either, if pushed to comment.

Is this not Trident? I am pretty sure people(me too) have done this before, tho it doesnt really fit the description. Anyone clarify?

Iain Miller - 15/02/2009
Can't locate this route in the on-line guide but it must have been done before?

Peter Cooper - 15/02/2009
Nothing submitted, unless its been buried somewhere on climbing.ie(?)Folks will generally just follow what climbs are in the guide. Well done.
